• How is my data and the data of my patients protected? How is my data and the data of my patients protected?

  The app has been developed following Privacy by Design principles. It is GDPR-compliant.

  Regarding the privacy for users (emergency service/medical staff):
  All data protocolled during use remains on the device. It will be deleted without any traces after use.
  The app sends anonymous data relating to app crashes as well as selected information about general use to identify and fix problems and to improve the functionality.

  Regarding the privacy of your patients:
  The app does not allow any entry of personal data like name, date of birth or insurance number. Patients are and will stay anonymous.

• Is the app operable with disposable gloves? Is the app operable with disposable gloves?

  The app has been optimized for use in medical emergencies and optimized for use with disposable gloves. Responsiveness of the app to input wearing disposable gloves depends on your device and the type of gloves.

• How can documentation be imported in other software? How can documentation be imported in other software?

  Case data can be transferred easily via QR code or copy and pasting.

  There are three use cases:

  Data transfer to NidaPad (medDV) or DIVIDOK (Thieme DokuFORM):
  For users of a NidaPad or DIVIDOK tablet, case data is compressed and displayed as a 2-dimensional QR code. Scan the QR code with the camera of the pad to insert the text directly into the anamnesis field of the emergency service protocol. Important: Longer case protocols are divided into multiple QR codes and combined on the pad.

  Data transfer to other external information systems:
  Data transfer to your emergency room information system (ERPath, epias ED) or practice management system (PMS) is done by scanning a QR code that encodes the case data in plain text. Use the handheld scanner that you also use for reading the QR code (Data Matrix) of the National Uniform Medication Plan. Important: Longer case protocols are divided into multiple QR codes and combined on the pad.

  Data transfer on the same device (Pulsation, ZOLL):
  For data transfer to other documentation software running on the same device as aidminutes.rescue, the case data is copied to the clipboard of your device and can then be pasted into the operation protocol. Important: The data is deleted from the clipboard after the completion of an operation.

• Which information can be transfered? Which information can be transfered?

  Your questions posed with the app and the recorded answers are summarized medically along with the time they were captured for handover in the emergency department. Certain information that is irrelevant to the attending physicians is not transmitted (e.g., instructions like “Please open your eyes”).

  The summary looks, for example, as follows:

  Patient language: Serbian
  Age: Adult
  Gender: Female

  Patient interview:
  [20:22] Upper abdominal pain/lower abdominal pain
  [20:23] Patient has taken their medication
  [20:23] Patient denies accident (last 48 hours)
  etc.

  External medical history:
  [20:26] Patient regularly consumes alcohol
  etc.

• In which languages can the documentation be imported? In which languages can the documentation be imported?

  The documentation can be transferred in German and English language via QR code or copy and paste. You select the language before the generation of the comprised documentation.

• Can the app be used off-grid? Can the app be used off-grid?

  aidminutes.rescue has been developed with off-grid use in mind, i.e. you can use the app without any internet connectivity or with activated flight mode.

  To make the app fully off-grid compatible:
  All audio data needs to be downloaded once to be available offline. Make sure to be on a stable internet connection for several minutes and that you have around 750 MB of storage space on your device.
  In the app on the start screen, select “Offline Mode” in the menu. Then simply follow the instructions on screen.
  Important: Download may take up to 10 minutes depending on your connection. The app should stay open and active while over 50.000 audio files for all languages, about 750 MB additional data, gets downloaded on the device.

  Please check once before practical use that the download has completed successfully without errors by activating flight mode on your device, then starting aidminutes.rescue and play the audio for questions in at least three different languages.

  Please be aware that the offline functionality is no longer available after the end of a subscription.

• Is the app suitable for non-native speaking professionals? Is the app suitable for non-native speaking professionals?

  The app can be used with any of the languages offered within the app, regardless of your smartphone’s language settings, even with languages not directly supported by the operating system.

  You can change the language in the menu under Change App Language, and this setting can be adjusted at any time.

• Can the app be used on a laptop or desktop PC? Can the app be used on a laptop or desktop PC?

  The app is available for macOS in the Apple App Store. To use the Android version of the app on a laptop or PC, an Android emulator is required.

  For Apple: aidminutes.rescue can be installed on ARM-based systems (e.g. devices with M1 chip). You can find and install the app through the App Store app. The display in the app is generally optimized for use on a desktop, meaning that text is displayed normally and is not rotated 90 degrees as on a phone, making it easily readable.

  Please note that when using audio playback on laptops or desktop PCs, the clarity of the sound may be affected, especially if the laptop/PC/speakers are not directed towards the person being questioned but towards you. The audio is optimized for playback up to 80dB, so please pay attention to the volume settings to ensure the sound is understandable and not too loud in enclosed spaces.

  The app can be downloaded for free and used in preview mode without time limit, so you can get to know content, structure, and functionality of the app.

  For professional use a license must be purchased through an in-app subscription. Once you subscribe, you have an additional 7 days to test the app with full functionality before start of the first subscription period.
